If you missed the September Silk Route 5th Anniversary show my photos from the evening have now been posted on The Silk Route's Flickr Photostream (just follow the links from the Silk Route website at www.SilkRouteShow.com). It was, as always, a fantastic evening so if you didn't go then you really missed out! The next show is Sunday 17th November 2013 so make a date of it......
Summer is well and truly here and it looks as if it may be the hottest for a number of years (forecasts suggest it could be hotter than 1976!). While the heat-wave has taken hold of Britain, I've had the immense pleasure of working my way through the photos from May's Silk Route show on the creaking steam driven computer at DHP central. The results can now be viewed on The Silk Route's Flickr Photostream (simply follow the Photo links at The Silk Route website: www.SilkRouteShow.com). Hopefully they've captured the atmosphere of the evening and will bring back some great memories for anyone that attended. Contact Me if you wish to enquire about purchasing these or any other photos fro the show.
The next Silk Route show is on Sunday 21st July 2013 and will run under the theme of "Snake Hips" and as usual I shall have the pleasure of photographing the event. It's March already and we are well entrenched into 2013. The Silk Route have posted my photos from their January "Cafe Casablanca" show on their Flickr Photostream (follow the link from thier website http://www.silkrouteshow.com/) and I'm looking forward to taking photos at their next show on Sunday 17th March 2013 which runs under the theme of "Arabian Dreams".
I'm also delighted to have been invited back to photograph the 2nd Hayaam Bellydance Theatre Show on Saturday 23rd March 2013 (see the "Theatre Show" link on Hayaam's website at http://www.hayaam.com/). I've had the pleasure of photographing some of the dancers before as they have appeared at The Silk Route Show in the past so I'm looking forward to seeing them again. I'm also looking forward to experiencing Guy Schalom and his Baladi Blues ensemble. Both events should be great evenings, so why not try to get down to one yourself?....say hello if you can make it to one. Photos from September's Silk Route have now been posted on their Flickr Photostream. The performances were enchanting and I'm looking forward to trying to capture some more shots at the next show on Sunday 18th November 2012. The theme for the evening is "Gypsy Soul" and the line-up looks fantastic (see http://www.SilkRouteShow.com/ for more information)....an evening not to be missed.
It appears that I've been taking photos of a top celebrity model when shooting DK Darlington's mens 2012/13 clothing range a few months ago. One of the guys, James Fox (AKA Beatfox), is not only a very talented top Beatbox star but he also recently appeared on ITV's "Take Me Out" show! His style must have shone through as he was swept up for a date by one of the contestants! I've had a busy summer photographing the DK Darlington 2013 men's clothing range plus recent Silk Route (Arabian Cabaret / Bellydance) shows.
Photos from July's Silk Route in which the brilliant Elis Pinherio was the Featured Artist can be viewed by following the link from the Silk Route website. I will also be posting photos from the fantastic September show very soon which featured the amazing Hannah Mi. The next show will take place on Sunday 18th November 2012 with the theme of "Gypsy Soul". I will be the official photographer (as usual!) - hope you can make it (see The Silk Route website for more details). I also managed to get to see some of the Olympic Torch procession and the Olympic cycling road races and I've put a few snaps of these on my Flickr Photostream. I had the pleasure of enjoying a fantastic evening on Sunday 20th May with The Silk Route team, special guest hosts Hossam & Serena Ramzy and the Drumzy School of Music Rhythm and Dance (Helen, Rachel, Cherie, Alexandra, Natasha, Amy, Bonita, Judite, Lianna, Sabrynah, Saeeda and Mike). Amazingly high standards of dance and of course top notch drumming from Hossam....you wouldn't expect anything less from a man that has worked with Jimmy Page and Robert Palnt, Peter Gabriel, Big Country, Joan Armatrading, etc, etc! To top it all I had the honour of photographing the event and the photos of the performances will be available soon. A selection will be posted on The Silk Route's Flickr Photostream soon but Contact Me if you would like to see more.
The next Silk Route show will take place on Sunday 15th July 2012 and will feature the brilliant Elis Pinheiro. As usual, I will be the official photographer and I hope to see you there... I am delighted that the "Oriental Limelight" Magazine Blog have used a number of my photos (with permission) in their recently published "Randa Kamel" interview. The photos were taken at one of Randa's cabaret performances on the Nile Maxim restaurant boat in Cairo, Egypt 2010. It's a great interview by Isis Zahara and can be found at http://orientallimelight.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/randa-kamel-of-course-interview-with.html. The magazine looks like essential reading for any fans of Oriental Dance (Bellydance).
A selection of photos from The Silk Route show held in March 2012 can now be viewed on the show's Flickr Photostream. Follow the link from their website (http://www.silkrouteshow.com/) to see photos of Dawn Harvey and her Students, Nicolah, Candan Mills, Melissa Abraham and her School, Desiree, Roxane Grant, Setsuna, Firuza, Pauline Blackwood, Amy Lo, Dunya and, the Featured Artist of the night, Ozgen plus his student troupe. See you at the next show on 20th May 2012 featuring Hossam and Serena Ramzy plus The Ramzy Dance Company and The Ramzy School of Music and Dance.
The next "The Silk Route" will be held on Sunday 20th May at the Bedford in Balham. It's going to be a slightly different format than usual as the show will be an evening with Hossam and Serena Ramzy, The Ramzy Dance Company and The Ramzy School of Music and Dance. It's going to be a very special event and I will be the official photographer. Hope to see you there.
I recently took the photographs at the "1st Hayaam Belly Dance Theatre Show" at the Sarah Siddon's Theatre in the City of Westminster College (held on Saturday 31st March 2012). The performances were fantastic and it was a great venue. Contact Me for details of photos.
